    greater comparing the total energy of both housings and therefore allowing existing trams to achieve much greater autonomy RESULTS Prototype storage system based on lithium ion technology modified for railway applications UNE EN 61373 compatible in terms of the size of existing storage systems and therefore interchangeable with these improving the energy density of these by a factor of 15 Lithium ion electro mechanical and thermal system design SECTOR Advanced Manufacturing Transport ERTMS ETCS Signalling and train control system DESCRIPTION In this project we have carried out an impact and adaptation assessment of the new set of ETCS Baseline 3 specifications of the European Train Control System ETCS for the product which is currently under development Set of ETCS Baseline 2 specifications ETCS is a signalling and train control system implemented within the European Union under the European Railway Traffic Management System ERTMS The phase for gathering the requirements and specifications of the architecture has been completed in order to adapt the existing product to the latest update of the regulations RESULTS The adaptation of the requirements of the existing product in order to allow trains to circulate along the railway lines where both versions of the ETCS regulation coexist

    partial redesign There have been several numerical DoE studies conducted to analyse the applicability of solutions under adverse environmental conditions as well as to investigate the regulation and the purely passive operation of the thermal management system RESULTS Analysis of the current design to determine possible improvements Proposal of a separate package allowing for a percentage increase of thermal efficiency of up to 70 as compared to the reference case Proposal for the modification of the current design in order to reduce costs and increase performance by up to 28 DESCRIPTION Throughout the project we have designed controllers for various classes of wind turbines thereby ensuring their performance During this process criteria were established to ensure the stability of the wind turbines by applying changes to their parameters and subsystems without having to change the controller Moreover to achieve all the objectives required for control we have added new robust control loops that have been validated through real time simulations Finally worth mentioning is the development of a specific electrical power loss compensation algorithm allowing for improvements in design and configuration RESULTS Multi variable control algorithms in order to combine the reduction of mechanical loads and the maximisation of energy
