    of household heat and power consumption EKITERMIK Development of advanced control algorithms for wind turbines ALSTOM RENOVABLES More of this type of project Monitoring of bearings for offshore wind turbines Share Sensorisation of wind turbine blade bearings CUSTOMER LAULAGUN SECTOR Energy PROGRAMME Basque Government ETORGAI We are developing new sensors and a data acquisition system in order to monitor the condition of bearings of offshore wind turbine blades The data acquisition system has been designed to suit various requirements and working conditions according to the needs of each facility Laulagun has already assembled the first units on wind turbine prototypes for its customers Among the new sensor features is a sensor measuring axial and radial clearances so small that it can be incorporated inside a bearing without the need to modify its design This sensor the least invasive solution currently found in the market has been patented by Laulagun Challenges and results A monitoring system that can be modified to suit various requirements and working conditions that exist for onshore and offshore wind turbines An integrated sensor protected under patent which measures the axial and radial clearances of bearings on offshore blades Algorithm for determining the structural health of the

    thermal management Other projects RENOVA ENERGIGUNE 12 REEMAIN More of this line of project ENERGIGUNE 11 Share A metal air battery for stationary electric energy storage Participants CIC Energigune Coordinator IK4 IKERLAN Duration 2011 2013 Dpto de Industria Innovación Comercio y Turismo N exp IE11 303 PROGRAMME Basque Government ETORTEK ENERGIGUNE 11 was a project for developing a metal air battery a device providing a high energy system for public services and other applications and which could also have a significant impact on future energy storage technologies The metal air system is an innovative technology totally different from that used in ordinary batteries or fuel cells Specifically HTMAB which stands for high temperature metal air battery provides advantages over conventional lithium ion or metal air batteries such as high energy density a long lifetime improved safety and low cost for stationary electric energy storage Our contribution We worked on identifying problems with humidification compatibility and reversibility of the electrochemical reaction laboratory scale proof of concept and prototype levels development of efficient solutions for problems connected with high energy density systems sealing and corrosion at high operating temperatures and lastly techno economic analysis manufacturing repeatability and reproducibility and battery performance IK4
