    is a facility of Preclínical Multimodal Imaging for small animals It is located in the Instituto de Investigaciones Biomédicas CSIC UAM IIB and is part of the Multimodal Biomaging Module for small animals integrated in the INNOTEK platform of the Academic Excellence Campus CSIC UAM Advanced techniques for the generation and characterization of animal models Given the characteristics of the materials employed SIME is part of the Radioactive Installation of the IIB authorized by the Dirección General de Industria y Energía of the Consejería de Economía e Innovación Tecnológica with authorization number IR M 423 89 SIME has a trimodal scanner INVEON microCT microSPECT microPET from SIEMENS for small animals mice and rats the first one installed in Spain The INVEON system due to its characteristics provides high quality PET SPECT and CT data Molecular imaging techniques like PET Positron Emission Tomography and SPECT Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography allow visual representation characterization and quantification of biological processes at cellular and molecular level in living organisms without perturbing the system under study For this purpose an appropriate radiotracer is administered to the animal X ray Computed Tomography CT provides morphological anatomical information complementary to the metabolic data supplied by microPET microSPECT The authorized radioisotopes for multimodal imaging studies are Radionucleid Simbol Half life Studies Tecnetium 99m 99 Tc 6 hours SPECT Iodine 123 123 I 13 2 hours SPECT Thallium 201 201 Tl 3 04 days SPECT Gallium 67 67 Ga 3 26 days SPECT Fluoride 18 18 F 109 8 min PET Carbon 11 11 C 20 4 min PET Cupper 64 64 Cu 12 7 hours PET Rubidium 82 82 Rb 1 3 min PET Gallium 68 68 Ga 1 13 hours PET Iodine 124 124 I 4 18 days PET Bromine 76 76 Br 16 2 hours

    Functions Staff Contact Specific Information Regulations Manuales Tarifas Reactivos Programas Artìculos Form contact service The Optical and Confocal Microscopy Unit SEMOC of IIBM provides our users with a number of light microscopy techniques The Zeiss confocal laser scanning microscope LSM710 allows the collection of optical sections from samples stained with fluorescent markers This microscope is particularly well suited for spectral separation of different fluorophores analysis of three dimensional structures colocalization studies as well as for acquisition of reflection images from materials Furthermore we have a fluorescence microscope for multidimensional acquisition space dimensions x y z fluorescence channels time and different stage positions This equipment enables the study of cell morphology particle tracking location of intracellular molecules cell migration We also offer different wide field microscopes direct and inverted equipped with brightfield interdiferencial contrast DIC and phase contrast techniques The staff assists researchers in image acquisition and provides training for the use of the microscopes Additionally support is provided in the processing and analysis of the acquired datasets Our equipment is available to users of IIBM as well as researchers from other institutions Equipment Prices Contact Form Navigation Presentation Welcome Location History Biography of Alberto Sols Organization Organization chart Management Administration

    Contact Contacto servicio El IIBM dispone de un equipo de imagen óptica in vivo IVIS Lumina II acoplado a un equipo de anestesia XGI 8 Esta plataforma de imagen óptica permite adquirir y cuantificar imágenes de bioluminiscencia y fluorescencia de organismos vivos a tiempo real y de forma dinámica en el tiempo El sistema permite la adquisición automatizada y en tiempo real de imágenes de bioluminiscencia y fluorescencia de animales de experimentación ratón y rata ubicados en un compartimento oscuro mediante el uso de una cámara CCD ultrasensible La adquisición y análisis de las imágenes se realiza con el programa Living image 3 2 Adicionalmente este equipo permite adquirir imágenes de células creciendo en placas de cultivo Las técnicas de imagen óptica no invasivas hacen uso de sistemas reportero bioluminiscentes o fluorescentes en células y organismos aplicables a una enorme variedad de contextos como cáncer inflamación infección metabolismo y regulación de la expresión génica El equipo IVIS Lumina II permite combinar la adquisición de imágenes de reporteros que emiten bioluminiscencia y fluorescencia en la región desde el verde al infra rojo cercano Equipamiento Tarifas Contact Form Navigation Presentation Welcome Location History Biography of Alberto Sols Organization Organization chart Management Administration
