    of achieving these common tasks GPS position information at low heights is not accurate enough positioning errors of 1 m for being used in position based control tasks That explains why in this research we propose the use of visual information to accurately estimate 10 cm the UAV s state information Additionally the use of a multi camera system can contribute to solve common vision problems such as occlusions and can offer more tools for control tracking and navigation of mobile vehicles among other tasks The ground vision system is a trinocular system that estimates the position and orientation of the UAV based on the detection and tracking of on board landmarks and their 3D reconstruction The algorithm has been validated against on board sensors and known 3D positions showing that the proposed camera configuration robustly estimates the helicopter s position with an adequate resolution 10 cm improving the position estimation especially the height estimation allowing the vehicle to develop tasks at low heights such as autonomous landing take off and positioning using the extracted 3D information as a visual feedback to the flight controller Contact Pascual Campoy pascual campoy upm es Contact Carol Martínez carolviviana martinez upm es Reference
